Former Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has branded Keir Starmer’s handling of the Iran conflict "impotent" and "pathetic"

The Government’s failure to have enough military assets in the Middle East region and the speed of its response have been criticised, as the HMS Dragon warship being readied to help protect Cyprus is not expected to set sail until next week.

Speaking to Nigel Farage on GB News, Grant Shapps blasted the Prime Minister, saying: "I’ve never felt the country being so impotent in a moment of global crisis. It’s literally embarrassing to see."
