Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has dismayed green Conservatives by declaring the UK’s target to reach net zero by 2050 "impossible".
Badenoch is expected to tell what she says is the "unvarnished truth" that the net zero goal cannot be achieved without "a serious drop in our living standards or by bankrupting us".
