Banks are "not serving customers as they should" by keeping saving rates low amid a hike in the base rate, according to Labour’s Pat McFadden.
Customers with mortgages have seen huge rises in the amount they are paying in recent months, as the Bank of England raised the interest rate.
The Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury also believes supermarkets should be forced to pass on reductions in the wholesale cost of petrol and diesel to drivers at the pumps.
