The Government has launched its strategy to tackle child poverty – as Sir Keir Starmer described it as a "huge barrier to potential" for young people.

The plan – triggered by the decision to scrap the two child benefit cap – aims to lift around 550,000 children out of poverty by the end of the decade.
Campaigners welcomed the proposals but said the level of ambition was still "sadly missing".
