Labour delegates in Liverpool are talking about hope again, but can the mood reach the wider public?

The UK under Prime Minister Andy Burnham has reset its position on Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, according to Labour’s foreign secretary. In Liverpool, Ed Miliband admitted at the Labour Party conference that Sir Keir Starmer’s government was wrong.
But ahead of Burnham’s appearance at the conference on Tuesday, members of his cabinet have struggled to be quite as clear about what they got wrong and what they will change.
It is hard to see, for example, what in the chancellor’s speech couldn’t have been said by his predecessor, as he promised to stick to the fiscal rules, reindustrialise Britain and reform welfare.
Experts disagree how big and how significant the "Burnham bounce" in the polls has been, but there’s no denying that there has been a significant bounce in the spirits and strides of delegates at the conference.
So if party activists are learning to "hope again" as the slogan plastered around Liverpool says, can they transfer that sentiment around the country?
