The Beechcraft B200 aircraft crashed about 4pm on Sunday, soon after taking off from London Southend airport.

David Burton-Sampson, the Labour MP for Southend West and Leigh in Essex, confirmed the incident and said: ‘For the people of Southend this is just a really shocking moment to have seen this happen, and our thoughts are with the emergency services who are dealing with this incident right now, and of course those who have been impacted’
