US President Donald Trump is set to unveil sweeping tariffs on goods from around the world on Wednesday, in an event the US president has dubbed “liberation day”.
Although many details remain unknown the administration’s trade policy announcement, it is expected to be the most aggressive tariff move yet by Trump.
The president has said he is seeking to rebalance trade agreements between the US and its global partners.
British businesses that export to the US are bracing themselves for sanctions despite the government’s efforts to try and avoid them.
