The 15-year-old boy who murdered classmate Harvey Willgoose at a school in Sheffield can be named for the first time after a judge lifted an order protecting his identity.
Mohammed Umar Khan, known as Umar, stabbed Harvey to death during a lunch break at All Saints Catholic High School on 3 February. Both boys were aged 15 at the time.
Reporting of Khan’s identity has been prohibited because of his age.
Harvey Willgoose, 15, was stabbed in the heart in front of horrified children by another student who had taken a hunting knife to school.
Sheffield Crown Court heard how other pupils fled “in fear and panic”, some locking themselves in a school cupboard, after the fatal attack at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield on February 3.
