A London-bound Air India flight with 244 passengers on board has crashed near an airport in India’s northwestern city of Ahmedabad.
In a post on X, Air India confirmed that the crashed aircraft was flight AI 171, which was heading towards Gatwick from Ahmedabad Airport, officially Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
Gatwick Airport said the plane was due to land at its site near Crawley at 6.25pm on Thursday.
