Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert told Sky News’ Yalda Hakim that he is "optimistic" about the prospect of peace, but insisted there is a long way to go "before it becomes a promising road towards something more substantial".
"Both of us still don’t have any alternative but to live alongside each other in our independent sovereign states with space and respect and compromise, and someone has to push it," he added.
