Louvre robbery forces museum to shut for the day

The Louvre in Paris has closed for the day after chain-wielding robbers stole jewellery from the museum.

According to the French Interior Ministry, thieves used a goods lift on a truck to access the building.

A list of the stolen items is being drawn up – said to be of ‘incalculable’ value.
