A security worker at the Louvre has told Sky News that "obsolete" equipment and a "drastic cut in staff" meant it was more difficult to protect the world-famous Paris museum.
The audacious heist happened on Sunday, with jewels belonging to Napoleon and French regents taken by the perpetrators.
Police think the robbery was carried by an organised criminal gang stealing to order.
