West Midlands police have banned Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending a match against Aston Villa in Birmingham next month. The West Midlands Crime Commissioner has called for an "immediate review" of the move – which police had said was taken on safety grounds.
Government ministers, including the culture secretary, will meet later today to discuss the decision. Sir Keir Starmer called it the wrong decision.
