Macron arrives in UK

French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte have arrived in west London at the beginning of a three-day UK state visit – the first by a European leader since Brexit.

He was met at RAF Northolt by Prince William and Catherine and will dine with the King and Queen at Windsor Castle.

Mr Macron will also address parliament and will meet Sir Keir Starmer to discuss small boat crossings and support for Ukraine.
