Police in Portugal have been seen draining a well and clearing dense vegetation near abandoned buildings, as fresh searches for Madeleine McCann got underway on Tuesday.
German investigators, along with Portuguese police officers and firefighters are working, in a little-developed area of countryside a few miles from where Madeleine was last seen in 2007.
ITV News understands that police are focussing on a location between Praia da Luz and the house where Christian Brueckner, the main and only suspect in the case, lived.
