A copy of the Magna Carta at Harvard University, once thought to be a copy, is now believed to be a rare original.

Two British researchers concluded that it dates back to the year 1300 and was issued by King Edward I.
It was bought at an auction for less than $30, originally dated to 1327 and wrongly assigned to King Edward II.
The Magna Carta established the king is subject to law and formed the basis of global constitutions.
