The pair have not always seen eye to eye with Mamdani once calling Trump’s administration "authoritarian" and Trump previously saying Mamdani is a "100% Communist lunatic".
During their first-ever meeting, the two struck a conciliatory tone, discussing crime, immigration and housing affordability in New York City.
