Man sentenced to three years in prison after protesting against indefinite sentence | ITV News

Joe Outlaw, 39, has been sentenced to three years in prison for criminal damage after climbing onto the roof of HMP Frankland and causing £170,000 of damage in a protest against his indefinite sentence. He was found guilty of two counts of criminal damage, but cleared of all other charges. The judge at Teesside Crown Court took into consideration the mental toll of his IPP sentence, which were scrapped in 2012.

The Ministry of Justice says the Parole Board considers cases every two years to decide if prisoners are safe for release.
