Pawel Chmielecki was sentenced to life in prison after repeatedly stabbing his estranged wife Marta Chmelecka, 31 as he refused to accept their marriage was over.
After the murder, he stayed in the same room as his wife’s body. When a family member informed police when they got a suspicious text message from Marta’s phone, they smashed down the door to the flat.
They found Chmielecki with a knife in his neck, laying next to his dead wife. He was taken to hospital and arrested for her murder.
