Lord Peter Mandelson sought a £500k payout after he was sacked as ambassador to the US over his relationship with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, a newly released tranche of documents has revealed.
The files, released by the government on Wednesday, show Mandelson asked for £547,201 severance pay, but ultimately agreed to £75,000.
The information is part of 147 pages of documents relating to the vetting process of Lord Mandelson, who served as US ambassador from December 2024 until September 2025, when he was ousted after the extent of his friendship with Epstein was brought to light.
Lord Mandelson has always denied any wrongdoing.
