Mangioni could face death penalty

Luigi Mangione, the man accused of murdering the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, could be facing the death penalty.

US federal prosecutors filed a formal notice, seeking a death sentence for his top federal charge which is murder through use of a firearm.

The 26-year-old is due to enter a plea on his four federal charges in court today.

Mangioni has pleaded not guilty to his state charges.
