US Marines are expected to be deployed on the streets of Los Angeles today – while the city’s mayor imposed an overnight curfew for parts of the downtown area.
Police said they were carrying out "mass arrests" after protests against immigration raids continued for a fifth day – with reports of businesses being vandalised and looted.
The LA mayor accused President Trump of "going after women and children" and said it wasn’t making the city more safe.
