As Syrian rebels captured city after city on the road to Damascus, they also opened the doors of the regime’s prisons, which were infamous for torture – including the notorious Sednaya. Footage from Sednaya shows a small child being freed by rebels. Upwards of 100,000 people are said to have been disappeared into Syria’s prisons during nearly 14 years of civil war.
