Met Police boss tells GB News: "London is SAFE!"

London is "safe", according to Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley.

The number of homicides recorded in London has dropped to its lowest level in more than a decade, new figures show.

There were 97 homicides in the capital in 2025, down 11% from 109 in 2024, according to data released by the Metropolitan Police.

This is also the lowest number recorded since 95 homicides 11 years ago, in 2014.

Speaking to GB News, Sir Mark Rowley said: "I think we should just dwell on the fact that London is comparatively safe globally as well. There are cities like Paris or Milan or Toronto that homicide rates are half as big again. Cities like New York or Brussels or Berlin are three times our rate. That’s because of the fantastic work we’ve done targeting the most dangerous criminals."
