Mexican protesters storm the Senate building

A controversial new reform to the judiciary has been passed in Mexico after protesters who disagree with it stormed the Senate building.

The reform was proposed by outgoing President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and is supported by President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum. They argue it will improve accountability of the judiciary but critics say it will weaken its independence.
