Migrant bonfire effigy in Northern Ireland ‘sick’ and ‘racist’

An effigy of migrants in a boat on top of a bonfire in Northern Ireland has been condemned by politicians – describing it as ‘racist’ and ‘sick’.

The bonfire in Moygashel is to be lit on Thursday night as part of loyalist commemorations.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland says it is ‘aware of an item placed on a bonfire at the Moygashel area.’
