Migrant shipwreck: 41 killed after boat capsizes off Italian coast

Dozens of people have been killed after their boat capsized off the island of Lampedusa, when it was hit by a huge wave in stormy conditions.

Four people managed to survive by climbing onto an empty boat nearby, and an aircraft was able to help coordinate a rescue.

But at least eight bodies are thought to have washed up ashore in Tunisia – from where the boat set sail.
