Minister recommits to 'driving down use of asylum hotels'

Councils across England are considering launching their own legal actions after a district council in Essex secured a High Court victory temporarily blocking asylum seekers from being housed in a hotel in the area.

Dan Jarvis, the security minister, has told Sky News that the government is committed to "driving down the use of asylum hotels". He also stressed that the "bigger issue is how we can tackle the asylum backlog".
