Modi ready to bring peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, he tells Zelenskyy

Last month India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi drew condemnation for hugging Vladimir Putin on the day Russia bombed a children’s hospital in Kyiv.

Today, he was in Ukraine, embracing Volodymyr Zelenskyy – the man who’d branded his Putin hug a "devastating blow to peace efforts".

Modi told Zelenskyy he is ready to help bring peace to Ukraine "as a friend".
