A mother has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her newborn baby and concealing the birth of a child more than 25 years ago.
Joanne Sharkey, from Croxteth, was charged with murdering the baby boy in 1998 and was scheduled to face a trial at Liverpool Crown Court beginning on Thursday 6 March.
The body of the infant was found in a bin bag left near Gulliver’s World in Warrington on 14 March 1998.
