Sky’s Beth Rigby labelled the government’s defeat as "humiliating" because not only do the government have to disclose all of the Mandelson’s files – but they do not get to decide which parts to hold back.
"The intervention was kicked off by Angela Rayner – it only came about because Labour MPs don’t trust their own government, they want independent oversight of the Mandelson files," she adds.
