More than 1,500 evacuated from Crete wildfires

More than 1500 people have been evacuated from the Greek island of Crete – as firefighters tackle a fast-moving wildfire.

Local emergency services described the situation as "very difficult", after the blaze first broke out early this morning.

A number of homes have already been destroyed and officials said at the moment firefighters had been unable to contain the flames.
