The Russian military says it fired its hypersonic Oreshnik missile at a target in Ukraine as part of what it says was a massive overnight strike on energy facilities and drone manufacturing sites.
The defence ministry says the strike was a response to an attempted Ukrainian drone attack on one of Vladimir Putin’s residences at the end of last year.
Kyiv says Moscow’s claims that it tried to attack the residence, in the Russian region of Novgorod, "a lie."
