Mother of man imprisoned in Egypt urges Foreign Secretary to do more

The British mother of a man who’s being held as a political prisoner in Egypt has met the Foreign Secretary David Lammy – urging him to press for her son’s release.

Laila Soueif’s son Allee Abd el-Fattah was meant to be freed in September after serving a five year sentence for allegedly "spreading false news".

But he’s still behind bars and she’s been on hunger strike ever since.
