MPs have been hastily called back from their Easter break for tomorrow’s emergency debate on the future of British Steel’s site in Scunthorpe – and its 2700 strong workforce.

According to Sir Keir Starmer – Britain’s economic and national security is "on the line". And he said Saturday’s debate would be all about the Government "taking control".
Unions hope that will lead to full scale nationalisation – but that involves huge cost and paying the Chinese owners who’ve failed to keep it viable.
