MPs have narrowly backed legalising assisted dying in England and Wales.
The historic bill passed with a majority of 23 votes in the House of Commons. 314 MPs voted in favour and 291 voted against.
Terminally ill adults with less than six months to live will now be allowed to apply for an assisted death, subject to approval.
The bill will be moved to the House of Lords before becoming law.
