29-year-old Bellarmine Mugabe was arrested last week after a man believed to be a gardener at the Mugabe home was shot in Johannesburg.

Police say the victim is still in critical condition after there had been an “altercation” though the alleged motive is still not clear.

Bellarmine and his co-accused are facing two additional charges: defeating the ends of justice because the gun is still missing and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The pair briefly appeared in a South African court today.

They’re due back next week for a bail hearing.
