Mum of murdered asylum hotel worker speaks out | ITV News

An asylum seeker has been jailed for the murder of a woman who was stabbed 23 times at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium railway station in 20 October 2024.

Described by his victim’s family as "demonic and inhuman", Deng Chol Majek is thought to have entered the country by small boat less than three months before launching a frenzied assault on mother-of-one Rhiannon Whyte on 20 October 2024, stabbing her 23 times.

Passing sentence at Coventry Crown Court, Mr Justice Soole told Majek he had brought “devastation” to the family of hotel worker Rhiannon Whyte as he imposed a life sentence for murder.
