Luna Dobson’s cheek was nearly chewed off by an American XL bully dog which she had tried to pet.
The young girl had reached down to stroke the animal during a visit to family friends.
Mum Amy said the dog was well known to her and she did not see it as a threat.
She has now joined calls for the breed to be banned in the UK.
