Zack Polanski has said the Labour Party delaying a minimum wage rise for young people "would be an outrageous thing to do".
He said young people are worried that they are still living with their parents at home – they are stuck and feel like they cannot rent their own place.
"We should be looking at young people as an investment and making sure they are paid properly – with a proper living wage – which is what they were promised by this government," he added.
