Naples hit by biggest earthquake in 40 years

Hundreds of people in Naples spent the night out on the streets – after the biggest earthquake to hit the area for 40 years.

Local residents said there had been a ‘huge roar’ around 1.30am – followed by a powerful 4.4 magnitude quake and a series of after shocks which shook the city for another two hours.
