National guard in LA as Trump attempts ICE protest crackdown

National Guard troops have arrived in Los Angeles after being called up by President Trump to crack down on two days of protests over immigration enforcement raids.

Demonstrators have again clashed with riot police as they tried to stop enforcement officers detaining people.

Meanwhile, Mr Trump and his team have launched a war of words with the senior Democratic politicians in California who have been criticising the way the government’s immigration policy is being enforced.
