Algeria’s ambassador to the UN, Amar Bendjama, reads a letter from Mariam Abu Dagga, a journalist who was killed by an Israeli airstrike days earlier. The AP journalist wrote the letter to her 13-year-old son on X before she was killed in a ‘double tap’ strike on al-Nasser hospital in southern Gaza. Bendjama held back tears as he read the letter at a UN summit. Dagga was one of five journalists who were killed by the strike
