More than 200 stars including Sir Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sting have signed an open letter calling for the release of Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti.
Speaking to Sky News Actor Khalid Abdalla said that Marwan Barghouti is the “most important Palestinian political prisoner in Israel.”
“He is often called Nelson Mandela of Palestine” he added. “His release like the release of Nelson Mandela represents the possibility of a true peace and justice the same way Nelson Mandela’s did.”
