James Murray has been appointed health secretary after Wes Streeting resigned from the government.It’s a promotion for the Ealing North MP, who was serving as chief secretary to the Treasury.
Streeting resigned from the government and told the prime minister that "when we needed vision, there was a vacuum."
He’s not the only politician to challenge the prime minister’s leadership.
Manchester mayor Andy Burnham has announced he intends to return to Westminster. He plans to stand in a by-election in Makerfield, after Labour MP Josh Simons agreed to step aside to let Burnham run.
Sir Keir Starmer won’t block Burnham’s return, Sky News understands. Burnham’s last attempt to stand in a by-election was blocked by Labour’s National Executive Committee.
