New water regulator could be 'shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic', says Tory frontbencher

Kevin Hollinrake has defended the former government’s record in tackling water pollution.

He told Trevor Phillips the powers the Conservatives gave regulator OFWAT were "very effective".

Earlier, the Environment Secretary Steve Reed said the level of pollution in rivers was a "scandal" and the water industry was "absolutely broken".
