New York mayor Mamdani calls for ICE halt after agent shoots man | DW News

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani is calling for an end to ICE enforcement operations in the city after a federal immigration agent shot and wounded a Dominican man during an arrest operation. Authorities say the man was in a vehicle with a 5-year-old child, who was not injured. The Department of Homeland Security says agents were conducting a targeted operation involving a man with a prior criminal conviction and that the man survived the shooting.
