Sky News has learnt that the Treasury is drawing up new rules for banks seeking to close customers’ accounts.
Senior Conservatives have hit out at Coutts Bank after Nigel Farage claimed his account was closed because of his political beliefs.
The former Brexit Secretary David Davis described it as political discrimination, while Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg called for an inquiry into what happened.
