Police chiefs facing scrutiny over their decision to ban fans of an Israeli football team from attending a match in Birmingham have insisted the move was not politically influenced.
Appearing before MPs, senior West Midlands Police officers claimed there had been intelligence that members of the local community may arm themselves and actively seek out the Israeli fans.
