US Vice President JD Vance said in a meeting with Foreign Secretary David Lammy that "the US has no plans to recognise a Palestinian state" amid the developing situation in Gaza.

Vance said the US administration wanted to see Hamas eradicated, but added that Donald Trump was moved by the "humanitarian crisis" in Gaza and wanted to solve it.
The UK has said it will formally recognise a Palestinian state in September if Israel does not meet certain conditions.
